‘It’s been quite a row, thank you’ – Haaland after Norway’s exit from World Cup 2026

Striker, Erling Braut Haaland, has come out to express gratitude to his teammates and supporters some hours after Norway were knocked out of the FIFA World Cup 2026 by England.

The Vikings suffered a 1-2 defeat in the quarter finals of the tournament to the Three Lions on Saturday 11 July, 2026 in Miami, US.

Haaland, who fields for Manchester City posted on X: “It’s been quite a row, thank you”.

The Norwegians fought hard to scale through with a second goal cancelled following Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review after Haaland was adjudged to have committed a needless foul on England defender.

With a brace from Real Madrid midfielder, Jude Bellingham, England clinched their spot in the semi finals, and will face Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the semi finals.

Haaland wrote: “It’s been quite a row, thank you for making it so special”

In his post-victory comments on X, Bellingham said: “It is a victory for everyone. The while country is behind us.”

England will lock horns with Argentina in the last four of the tournament on Wednesday 15 July, 2026 at Atlanta Stadium, Atlanta, US at 20:00 (WAT).
