Former soccer star, David Beckham, has now become a member of the community of billionaires.
According to Forbes, American Business Magazine, the former Manchester United midfielder is now worth “$1 billion”.
Sir David Beckham, former England Captain, has emerged the first billionaire sportsman from the United Kingdom (UK), according to the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List.
The combined wealth of Beckham and his wife, Victoria, has reached £1.185bn, as revealed by those that compiled the List.
This achievement has positioned the Beckhams second among people in sports, trailing the family of ex-Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, whose wealth is calculated at £2bn.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, co-owner of Premier League outfit, Manchester United, meanwhile, has dropped on the list from seventh to ninth in the UK overall. His fortune is now at £15.194bn after falling by £1.85bn.
Beckham, former Real Madrid star, is a co-owner of Major League Soccer (MLS) Club, Inter Miami CF. The Club is estimated to be the League’s most valuable franchise at $1.45bn (£1.07bn).
The Englishman, who turned fifty-one (51) last month (May), is also a brand ambassador for outfits such as Adidas and Hugo Boss.
The wealth of Victoria Beckham, who was a member of the pop group the Spice Girls, has been generated primarily from her fashion label.
