England Captain, Harry Kane, netted a hat-trick to help Bayern Munich to a 3-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart in the DFB Cup 2025/26 final on Saturday 23 May, 2026 at Olympiastadion in Berlin.
The victory completed the domestic double for Vincent Kompany’s Bavarians.
Bayern Munich landed at the multi-purpose Stadium looking to seal the domestic double, having already bagged the Bundesliga 2025/26 title earlier.
Belgian pro manager, Kompany, made four (4) changes to Bayern starting eleven (XI), with Jonas Urbig filling injured Manuel Neuer’s space in goal, while Michael Olise, Josip StaniÅ¡ić and Aleksandar Pavlović also came into the side.
Stuttgart played very confidently against Bayern Munich at the early stages of the encounter, pressing intensely, and forcing goalkeeper, Urbig, to save Denis Undav’s header from a Maximilian Mittelstädt corner inside two minutes.
The Kings of Germany struggled against Stuttgart, but, the first half finished without a goal.
And, ten (10) minutes after the break, Kane opened the scoring for the Bavarians, converting an assist from Michael Olise; the Englishman rose beautifully after being left totally unmarked to head home Olise’s perfect cross.
Bayern’s opener weakened Stuttgart as they struggled to come back into the game; and in the 80th minute, Kane made it two (2) from a Luis Diaz’ assist.
The Colombian winger rolled the ball low from the left into the path of the former Tottenham Hotspur forward, who fired into the bottom corner to make it 2-0.
Kane then completed his hat-trick and third for Bayern in the 2nd minute of additional time from the penalty spot to seal the victory.
The win makes it Bayern Munich’s 13th domestic double and their 21st DFB Cup triumph.
