At the end of the 2025/26 season, Spanish right-back Dani Carvajal, will bring down the curtain on his outstanding chapter as a player of Real Madrid.
The decision was reached following an agreement between the club and the defender.
An official announcement from Real Madrid reads: “Real Madrid C.F. and our captain Dani Carvajal have agreed to bring an end to a wonderful chapter as a player of our club at the conclusion of the current season.”
Carvajal is one of the five (5) players in the history of football to have won six (6) European Cups, and, has been a part of a team that has experienced one of the most brilliant periods in the club’s history.
The Spaniard moved to Real Madrid in 2002 and has flaunted the Club’s colours for twenty-three (23) seasons – ten (10) in the Club’s Academy and thirteen (13) in the first team.
With the Los Blancos, Carvajal has won six (6) European Cups, six (6) Club World Cups, five (5) European Super Cups, four (4) La Liga titles, two (2) Copa del Rey titles, and four (4) Spanish Super Cups.
The defender has featured in 450 matches for Real Madrid and found the back of the net fourteen (14) times; he has fielded fifty-one (51) times for his country, Spain, and won the Euro 2024 and the Nations League in 2023.
According to the Club’s official website, President of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, described Carvajal as a “symbol of Real Madrid”, saying, Real Madrid”is and will always be his home”.
Perez said: “Dani Carvajal is a legend and a symbol of Real Madrid and its academy. His image alongside our beloved and remembered Alfredo Di Stéfano laying the first stone of Ciudad Real Madrid will forever remain in the hearts of all madridistas and in the history of our club.
“Carvajal has always exemplified the values of Real Madrid. This is and will always be his home.”

Real Madrid will gear up for their final La Liga 2025/26 match against Athletic Club at Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid City on Saturday 23 May, 2026 at 20:00.
The Los Blancos sit on the second spot of standings with eighty-three (83) points, eleven (11) points behind League Champions Barcelona, while, Athletic Club are 12th with forty-five (45) points.
