On Monday 18 May, 2026, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo announced, he has inaugurated the Anambra State Executive Council.
The Governor said on X, the appointments were “duly confirmed” by the Anambra State House of Assembly, adding, the move strengthens the Soludo administration’s “resolve to sustain purposeful governance and accelerate development across the state”.
The commissioners sworn-in as announced by Soludo are:
” • Ben Odoemena (Agriculture);
• Chukwukadibia Okoye, FCCA (Budget and Economic Planning);
• Udoji Amedu (Culture, Entertainment and Tourism);
• Dr. Ekene Ogugua (Education);
• Dr. Clem Aguiyi (Environment);
• Dr. Afam Obidike (Health);
• Dr. Law Mefor (Information and Value Reformation);
• Professor Offornze Amucheazi, SAN (Lands);
• Vin Ezeaka (Local Government and Community Affairs);
• Prof. Charles Ofoegbu (Petroleum and Mineral Resources);
• Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu (Physical Planning and Urban Development);
• Engr. Casmir Agummadu (Power);
• Engr. Okey Ezeobi (Works and Infrastructure);
• Eddy Ibuzo (Transport);
• Esther Onyekesi (Women Affairs and Social Development);
• Patrick Agha, MBA (Youth Development and Sports);
• Arc. Henry Arinze (Housing); and
• Mr. Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu (Commerce).
“Also inaugurated were:
• Mr. Emeka Okonkwo, Managing Director of the Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA);
• Dr. Ossy Onuko, Managing Director of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA);
• Mr. Fred Agbata, Managing Director of the Anambra State ICT Agency; and
• Engr. Obi Okonkwo, Managing Director of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).”
The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) reminded the appointees that position and titles are “temporary”, and that, governance is mainly about “service to the people and the pursuit of the common good”.
“The impact of responsible leadership endures in the lives of the people and in the progress of society”, he added.
As he saddled the appointees with the “significant responsibilities”, the Governor encouraged them to carry out their duties with “diligence, integrity, innovation, and a deep commitment” to the Southeastern State’s “collective vision” of building the “Anambra of our dreams”.
