President Tinubu arrives in Kigali for Africa CEO Forum

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has landed in the Rwanda Capital of Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum.

The event, the 13th edition, themed ‘The Scale Imperative: Why Africa Must Embrace Shared Ownership.’, is scheduled to commence on Thursday 14 May, 2026.

The President’s arrival in Kigali for the event was announced via a State House Press Release on Wednesday 13 May, 2026, signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

The Nigerian Leader was welcomed at the Presidential Wing of the Kigali International Airport by Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and, Juvenal Marizamunda, Minister of Defence of Rwanda.

The State House Press Release reads: “President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, ahead of the 13th edition of the Africa CEO Forum, which begins on Thursday.

“Founded in 2012 by Jeune Afrique Media and co-hosted by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the forum has become the largest annual gathering of African private sector leaders, investors, and policymakers. It focuses on accelerating economic transformation through shared scale, regional integration, and increased cross-border investment.”

The State House Press Release revealed, a lineup came to welcome the President, they included, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed,

“the Nigerian Chargé d’Affaires in Rwanda, Ambassador Ibrahim Zanna and the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Chief Sunday Dare.”

The President is expected to hold high-level bilateral meetings with top world and African business leaders while reasserting the leadership position of Nigeria in “shaping” the future of Africa.

“President Tinubu will use the occasion of the summit to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to advancing African unity, deepening regional economic cooperation, and fostering strategic partnerships to accelerate private sector-driven sustainable development across the continent”, the State House Press Release reads.
