Barcelona head coach, Hansi Flick, has released an update on Lamine Yamal’s injury ahead of the top flight encounter in Madrid on Saturday afternoon.
The German manager said, the Spain right winger is fighting hard to return to the squad “stronger”.
Barcelona, who are reigning Kings of Spain, will face Getafe on Saturday 25 April, 2026 in the La Liga 2025/26 match at Coliseum in the city of Madrid at 15:15 (WAT).
On the match against Getafe, according to FC Barcelona on X, Flick confessed, it is “difficult” to play against the Dark Blues; he said, the Catalans will do everything to “minimize mistakes”.
On his ambition for the clash in Madrid, the former Bayern Munich manager said, he wants to cart home all three (3) points, however, admitted, it “won’t be easy”
Flick said, the Catalans “want to win” and are ready to give “100%” to make it happen.
He made known his happiness on the return of 21-year old Spanish central midfielder, Gavi, whom he said gives his “everything” for Barcelona during games.
At his pre-Getafe presser, Flick said:
On the game against Getafe…
“Playing against Getafe is difficult. We need to control the rhythm with the ball and minimize mistakes. That’s what I want to see from the team.”
On Lamine Yamal’s injury…
“He’s very focused and motivated to come back stronger.”
On what he wants from the game…
“We want to win, but it won’t be easy. The whole team will need to give their 100%.”
On Gavi…
“I’m really impressed with Gavi’s return. He gives everything on the pitch and is always connected with the team. It’s great to see him performing like this.”
Lamine Yamal has bagged another accolade for himself as he emerged La Liga Player Of The Month (POTM) for April.
FC Barcelona are the current toppers of the La Liga with eighty-two (82) points, trailed by Real Madrid, who have been unstable all through the campaign, and amassed seventy-four (74) points, while, Getafe are 6th with forty-four (44) points; all three after thirty-two (32) games.
