National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has handed over “food, medicaments and non-food items” to the government of Jigawa State for victims of the tanker explosion that happened in the state.

The tanker explosion claimed more than 140 lives and left numerous individuals with various degrees of injury.
According to NEMA: “Handover of Medicaments, Food, and Non-Food Items to the Jigawa State Government for Victims of the Majia Town Tanker Explosion in Taura LGA
In response to the tragic tanker explosion in Majia Town, Taura Local Government Area, Jigawa State, which resulted in significant loss of lives and injuries, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has swiftly provided medicaments, food, and non-food items to assist the affected individuals.
“Representing the Director-General of NEMA, the Head of NEMA Kano Territorial Office (KTO) officially handed over the relief items to the Executive Governor of Jigawa State. The Governor was represented by Babangida Umar Gantsa, the Commissioner of Budget and Planning. The handover took place in the presence of the Executive Secretary of Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), officials from NEMA KTO, Jigawa SEMA, and personnel from the Jigawa State Ministry of Health.”
