Eno to ‘realize’ the Ibom Deep Seaport

Umo Eno, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, has assured his administration will not cease to work towards improving power supply for the people of the South-South State.

He also made known, he is focused on “realizing” the Ibom Deep Seaport which will benefit Akwa Ibomites.

The Governor made these assurances following his return from the United Kingdom (UK), where he travelled alongside President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on a State Visit.

President Tinubu alongside his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, were invited to the United Kingdom (UK) by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, and were received at Windsor Castle.

Eno said on X: “In the course of the visit, I had the opportunity to engage with investors, particularly in the power sector, as we continue to position Akwa Ibom State for greater economic growth.”

He continued, his administration remains committed to bolstering the power sector, as well as, “advancing” the Ibom Deep Seaport project.

The Governor described the projects as “critical investments”, and said, they will “unlock new opportunities and drive long-term development in our State”.

The former Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources however said, these projects will definitely “take time and careful processes”, he is recording “steady progress and recording strong investor interest”.

Eno expressed optimism that, “by the grace of God, we will achieve these goals”.

The Governor added: “We will continue to work diligently to improve power supply and realize the Ibom Deep Seaport for the benefit of our people.”
