As part of efforts to improve access to cancer care in Nigeria, the Federal Government, through @nhia_nigeria, has launched a cost-sharing initiative that will ensure patients undergoing radiotherapy gets a subsidy of up to N400,000.

This initiative was introduced to address the high cost of radiotherapy which constitutes a major part of cancer treatment.

For many Nigerians treating cancer, radiotherapy has always been a major challenge due to the high cost of accessing it. The National Health Insurance Authority is thus introducing a 50% subsidy capped at N400,000 for such patients.

The @nhia_nigeria is currently partnering with multiple oncology facilities across Nigeria to make radiotherapy services available for more Nigerians.
