Lots of congratulatory messages to the Super Eagles after Nigeria knocked out two-time Winners, Algeria, in the quarter finals of the Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) 2025 by 2-0 to reach the semi finals.
The victory on Wednesday night was a “clear message to the rest of the continent”, Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, posted.
The Algerians finished the showdown without a shot at goal as they found it very difficult to break through the rock solid Nigerian defence.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu described Nigeria’s outstanding performance against the North African side as “brilliant and inspiring”, and encouraged the Super Eagles to keep soaring as they have the “support of all Nigerians”.
With the outcome, Nigeria progressed into the AFCON 2025 last four to slug it out with the Atlas Lions of Morocco, who reached the stage following a 2-0 comfortable win over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

The former Manchester City player thanked the Algerian people for their “support”, and assured, Algeria will “come back stronger, as always”.
