Emi Buendia and John McGinn found the back of the net for the English Premier League side to maintain Aston Villa’s winning streak with a difficult 2-0 win at Feyenoord in the Uefa Europa League 2025/26 League Phase on Thursday 2 October, 2025.
After a goalless first half, Buendia opened scoring for the Villans in the 61st minute with a classy finish, and McGinn sealed the victory with the second in the 79th minute.
The outcome takes Unai Emery’s Aston Villa to a third win back-to-back in all competitions.
Both players scored in Sunday’s Premier League victory over Fulham and – despite some nervy moments in Rotterdam, the Netherlands – Villa are finally amassing some momentum this season.
Aston Villa head coach, Unai Emery, told TNT Sports: “My expectation was, more or less, tough – like the match [was].
“How we were ready to compete and be resilient was very important. The test we had today was a fantastic test.
“I’m so proud of how the players responded.”
