Antony scores to deny Postecoglou first win as Real Betis and Nottingham Forest end 2-2 in Europa League opener

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Ange Postecoglou, was denied his first victory as Nottingham Forest head coach by a late Antony leveller in a 2-2 draw with Real Betis in the Uefa Europa League 2025/26 match in Spain.

Cedric Bakambu scored for Real Betis in the 15th minute, but, the English visitors levelled through Igor Jesus three (3) minutes later.

Nottingham Forest then took the lead when I. Jesus scored in the 23rd minute.

Postecoglou replaced midfielder Douglas Luiz with forward Dilane Bakwa at the interval as a result of an injury fret and Forest gave up control to the Spanish La Liga side, who equalised late, in the 85th minute, through former Manchester United winger Antony, who netted his first goal of the season.

Nottingham Forest had to settle for one (1) point after a beautiful display in the first 45 minutes, however, they kick off their European campaign win a huge point in Spain.
