On Monday 22 September, 2025, in Abuja, Peter Obi, 2023 Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate, alongside fellow Nigerians honoured the life and legacy of Late Chief Audu Ogbeh, who passed in August, 2025.
The former Governor of Anambra State described Ogbeh as a man of “character and deep commitment to the service of Nigeria.”
Aufu Ogbeh was a politician, who served as Minister of Agriculture and rural development from 2015 to 2019; he also served as Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from 2001 to 2005.
Obi wrote on X: “Today, in Abuja, I joined fellow Nigerians to honour the life and legacy of Late Chief Audu Ogbeh.
“Chief Ogbeh was not just a statesman; he was a man of character and deep commitment to the service of Nigeria. He stood for principles that transcended politics, reminding us that leadership is about service to the people and fidelity to the truth.
“May his memory continue to inspire us all to pursue justice, unity, and development for our nation. May God grant him eternal rest and grant his family the fortitude to bear this great loss.”
