Two (2) have been killed in a shooting at a school in the city of Minneapolis, United States (US).
According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), a shooting at a school in Minneapolis that has killed two children and left seventeen (17) others with injuries is being investigated as an anti-Catholic hate crime.
Kash Patel, Director of FBI, said via a post on X, “The FBI is investigating this shooting as an act of domestic terrorism and hate crime targeting Catholics.”
Aged eight (8) and ten (10), the two children were killed when an attacker started shooting through the windows of the Annunciation Church in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning as children were celebrating Mass.
The Police released the name of the attacker, Robin Westman, 23 years of age, who died at the scene of the shooting of a self-inflictes gunshot wound.
In his updates on the shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Patel further posted: “There were 2 fatalities, an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old. In addition, 14 children and 3 adults were injured.
“The shooter has been identified as Robin Westman, a male born as Robert Westman.”
Authorities are yet to disclose any suspected reason for the attack.
Some leaving flowers, mourners arrived at the scene on the night of Wednesday.
