Governor Eno disburses ₦361m in business grants to over 800 beneficiaries

On Saturday 23 August, 2025, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, announced, his government has disbursed “₦361 million” in business grants to “844” beneficiaries across three (3) Local Government Areas (LGAs).

This is coming as the Governor made his way back home to Etinan/Nsit-Ibom/Nsit-Ubium Federal Constituency for the ARISE Town Square Meeting and Empowerment Series.

Apart from the cash grants, Eno said, his administration widening opportunities for “small businesses, farmers” to enable families succeed.

Governor Eno posted on X: “I returned home to Etinan/Nsit-Ibom/Nsit-Ubium Federal Constituency for our ARISE Town Square Meeting and Empowerment Series, the grand finale of our federal constituency tour.

“We disbursed ₦361 million in business grants to 844 beneficiaries across the three LGAs. Beyond the cash grants, we are expanding opportunities for small businesses, farmers, and entrepreneurs so that more families can thrive.”

The Governor further announced, dualization of the Afaha-Ofiong–Itreto Road, alongside, the establishment of a new Police Station at Ikot Edibon which will help “improve security and quality of life”.

He pleaded for more support from Akwa Ibomites so the South-South State can attain a level where every person will have the chance to prosper.

Governor Eno further posted: “I also announced fresh development directives, including the dualization of the Afaha-Ofiong–Itreto Road and the construction of a new Police Station at Ikot Edibon. These projects will improve security, connectivity, and quality of life for our people.

“It was an emotional homecoming and the grand finale of our federal constituency tour. I’m humbled by the love and solidarity shown today by stakeholders, leaders, traditional rulers, and the people of our constituency. Their words of encouragement strengthen my resolve to fully deliver on the ARISE Agenda.

“This is a journey we are walking together, one of unity, progress, and sustainable development. With your continued support, we will keep building an Akwa Ibom where every person has the chance to rise. Thank you, Akwa Ibom State.”
