‘PDP will bounce back stronger and more united’ – Senator Oyewumi

Lere Oyewumi, Senator representing the Osun West senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate, has expressed optimism that, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will “bounce back stronger and more united”.

Oyewumi said, the ‘Umbrella’ Party will emerge “better prepared to provide the credible alternative Nigerians deserve”.

The Senator admitted, the journey “may be tough”, however said, the Party’s “vision is clear, our spirit is high”.

He made known the “mission” of the Party which is “to restore hope and genuine progress” to Nigeria.

Senator Lere Oyewumi posted on X: “Insha’Allah, the @OfficialPDPNig will bounce back stronger, more united, and better prepared to provide the credible alternative Nigerians deserve. The journey ahead may be tough, but our vision is clear, our spirit is high, and our mission is noble to restore hope, accountability, and genuine progress to our great country.”

At its 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) held on Thursday 24 July, 2025, the PDP resolved to form a Committee that will organise the National Convention which has been scheduled to take place on November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The Party also resolved to set up a Zoning Committee that will ensure the allocation of Party offices to various geo-political zones.
