Borno State: Keyamo meet Zulum for transformation of MB Airport to ‘full-fledged International Airport’

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has made known, he met Governor of the State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, CON mni, for the transformation of the Muhammadu Buhari Airport, Maiduguri, to a full-fledged International Airport by January, 2025.

According to Keyamo: “Earlier today, I was in Maiduguri, Borno State to meet the Governor of the State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, CON mni, in order to prepare all the necessary logistics for the transformation of the Muhammadu Buhari Airport, Maiduguri, to a full-fledged International Airport by January, 2025. I was accompanied by all the relevant CEOs and personnel of the agencies in the aviation sector (FAAN, NAMA, NCAA, NIMET) and other agencies critical to the running of an international airport (Immigration, Customs, NDLEA, Police, the Air Force, DSS, Port Health, Quarantine, etc). 


We met for hours and apportioned responsibilities to all agencies in preparation for the take-off of International operations.”
