Gonzalo Garcia and Fran Garcia scored for Xabi Alonso’s Los Blancos in the 10th and 20th minutes respectively, and M. Beier scored for the Black and Yellow in the 2nd minute of additional time.
Illness returnee, Kylian Mbappe, netted the third with a beautiful acrobatic overhead kick for the Spanish La Liga side in the 4th minute of additional time, before S. Guirassy reduced the deficit with the second for the German Bundesliga side.
Real Madrid defender, Dean Huijsen, was shown a straight red and sent off in the 6th minute of additional time.
Alonso will now guide Real Madrid against European Champions, Paris Saint-Germaine (PSG), who knocked out Bayern Munich earlier 2-0.
