Jobe Bellingham will not have the chance to play against his older brother, Jude Bellingham, in the FIFA Club World Cup quarter finals after bagging suspension on Wednesday.
German side, Borussia Dortmund discomfited Mexican side, Monterrey, 2-1 in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 round of 16 at Mercedes-Benz multi-purpose Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, sadly, Jobe Bellingham’s booking for the Bundesliga side means he is banned for the quarter-final against his brother Jude’s Real Madrid.

Jobe Bellingham was booked for a tackle on Nelson Deossa in the first 45 minutes and, as a result of picking up a yellow card in a group match against Ulsan HD, the 19-year-old will miss his team’s next showdown.
FIFA Club World Cup rules say that two yellow cards in two different matches result in a one-game suspension, with yellow cards only being wiped out after the quarter-finals.
The Black and Yellow manager, Nico Kovac, said: “I think we all saw that he [Jobe Bellingham] was very disappointed.
“I think he did not exactly know that the second yellow card is a suspension at half-time. He was a little bit surprised.
“OK, he’s young. His brother is also young so I’m convinced they will face each other, maybe next season in the Champions League and then the future. The future is for them.
“The Club World Cup would be nice but now it isn’t. Someone else must play for him but it’s also OK.”
Serhou Guirassy netted a brace for Dortmund in the 14th and 24th minutes with both goals assisted by German winger, Karim Adeyemi.
Monterrey pulled one back through G. Berterame in the 48th minute.
The Mexican side almost levelled through former Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos but he headed just wide as fans of Monterrey were warned following chants late in the second half considered as homophobic when Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel took goal-kicks.
