Brazilian winger, Vinicius Jr, opened the scoring for Real Madrid in the last Group H encounter against RB Salzburg on Friday.
At the Lincoln Financial Stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Spanish La Liga side, Real Madrid, made light work of Austrian Bundesliga side, RB Salzburg, winning by three (3) unreplied goals on Friday 27 June, 2025 in the final Preliminary match of Group H in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

With this result, the five-time Champions of the FIFA Club World Cup, finished at the Group H top spot, after winning their second encounter against Mexican side, Pachuca, and ending the first match with a draw against Saudi club, Al Hilal.
There was no goal until the 40th minute when English midfielder, Jude Bellingham, laid an assist for Brazil international, Vinicius, who put the Los Blancos in front.
Vinicius then assisted Federico Valverde in the 3rd minute of first half additional time to score the seond goal for the Spanish giants.
Gonzalo Garcia sealed the win for Xabi Alonso’s side with the third in the 84th minute.
Following the outcome, the Austrian side fell to the third position in the Group and are knocked out of the tournament, with Al Hilal progressing in second following their 2-0 win against Pachuca.
Alonso’s Los Blancos who went through after this clean sheet against Salzburg, would have still progressed even with a draw.
Real Madrid, who progressed through the Preliminaries with Al Hilal, will slug it out with Italian Serie A side, Juventus, in the knockouts.
Madrid were left frustrated by Simone Inzaghi’s Al Hilal in their first game, however, it has been so easy for the Los Blancos since then.
