Real Madrid: Mbappe suffering from gastroenteritis

Real Madrid French forward, Kylian Mbappe, is suffering from an acute case of gastroenteritis.

The Los Blancos made known, the France international has been admitted to hospital so as to undergo a series of tests and follow the necessary course of treatment.

The Frenchman has been hospitalized during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, igniting serious worries about his health and whether he will be available for the remainder of the tournament.

Due to the illness, Mbappe was missing in action for Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid when they locked horns with Saudi Professional League side, Al Hilal, in their opener of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

The showdown which held on Wednesday 18 June, 2025 saw Simone Inzaghi’s Al Hilal finish 1-1 against the Spanish giants.

While no return date has been released, Mbappé remains under specialized medical supervision at a hospital, where he is being attended to and closely monitored.

Mbappe’s condition looks more serious than initially disclosed by the Club, however, his full recovery is Real Madrid’s priority, and no decisions are expected to be made by the club on his return to play until his health improves.

The forward who joined Real Madrid from French Ligue 1 club, Paris Saint-Germaine (PSG), in 2024, was replaced by Gonzalo Garcia in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 match against Al Hilal.
