Senator Shehu Sani has come out to disagree with Elon Musk, after the American businessman and investor said, “a Government or a country can be managed like the way private businesses are managed”.
The Senator described the statement as “weird”.
This is coming following the feud between the Tesla CEO and the President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, as a result of the ‘big, beautiful bill’.
Sani said, it is a whole new game when it come to managing people and power, compared to managing rockets, machines, gadget and making money.
Musk, who is the owner of X social media platform, has called for Trump’s bill to be killed, saying, “kill the bill”.
He said, the bill has the capacity to “bankrupt” the United States (US).
In his disagreement, the Nigerian Senator believes “Trump knows better”, he said, only money is lost when a rocket crashes, but, a whole lot more is lost when a country crashes.
Senator Shehu Sani said: “Mr Elon’s thoughts and expectations that a Government or a country can be managed like the way private businesses are managed is weird.Managing people and power is not the same as managing Machines,Gadgets or Rockets and making money. When a Rocket crashes,it’s just money lost, not when a country crashes.Trump knows better.”
In retaliation to the criticism of Trump’s bill, the US President terminated the Elon Musk’s government subsidies and contracts.
President Trump wrote on Truth Social: “The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do it!”
Musk, who has separated himself from the Trump administration by exiting the White House, said, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will continue to function accordingly; he said, “Just can’t stand it anymore. You know you did wrong.”
