United States: ‘Kill the bill’, it will ‘bankrupt America’ – Elon Musk

American businessman and investor, Elon Musk, is still working towards rallying Republicans against the “big beautiful bill” that he spent most of Tuesday bashing and which caused an uproar among lawmakers of GOP.

The Tesla CEO wrote on X: “Call you Senator, Call your Congressman,

“Bankrupting America is NOT ok!

“KILL the BILL.”

Musk also wrote on X: “A new spending bill should be drafted that doesn’t massively grow the deficit and increase the debt ceiling by 5 TRILLION DOLLARS.”

Republican congressional leadership has been pushing back at Musk’s missives, following the billionaire’s statement that came up at a secret meeting early Wednesday.

Speaker Mike Johnson, 56th Speaker of the United States (US) House of Representatives, said that he has tried to converse with the X CEO, and said following the House GOP conference meeting that they can’t “go back to the drawing board.”

This is coming after Musk said, “Just can’t stand it anymore. You know you did wrong.”

Musk, said, “I just can’t stand it anymore”, adding, “this massive, Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination”.

The South African-born who exited the White House recently, leaving the Trump administration, said, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will continue to function.

He parted ways with the Trump administration after helping lead a fierce move to reduce the size of US government that saw thousands of federal jobs axed.
