President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conferred Nigeria’s top honour, the National Honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR), on American Businessman, Co-Founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, at the State House, Abuja.
The President conferred the country’s top honour, CFR, on the Philanthropist on Tuesday 3 June, 2025.
The Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) is one of Nigeria’s highest honours, only for individuals who have hugely impacted development in Nigeria or progressed the country’s image globally.
Nigeria’s Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Founder and CEO of Dangote Group, was also at the State House, during the conferment of CFR Honour on the Founder of Gates Foundation.
The Gates Foundation is an American private foundation founded by Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates. Based in Seattle, Washington, it was launched in 2000 and according to report, it is the third largest charitable foundation in the world.
