Uefa Champions League 2024/25: Manchester City 3-3 Feyenoord – Guardiola talks about a scratch that appeared on his face

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has disclosed what caused the “scratch which had appeared on my face” as seen during the UCL match between his side and Feyenoord on Tuesday night.

English side, Manchester City, were held to a 3-3 draw by Ditch side, Feyenoord, in the Uefa Champions League 2024/25 League Phase match at Etihad Stadium on Tuesday 26 November, 2024.

The Cityzens were 3 goals ahead before they surrendered, and allowed their visitors level and return home with a point.

At the end of his press conference following his side’s draw at home, the Spanish manager said, the “scratch which had appeared on my face” was as a result of “a sharp fingernail”.

The outcome against Feyenoord was Guardiola’s City’s best result in their last six (6) encounters in all competitions – the English Kings headed into the game following five (5) successive defeats.

According to Pep Guardiola: “I was caught off guard with a question at the end of a press conference last night about a scratch which had appeared on my face and explained that a sharp fingernail had accidentally caused this.


“My answer was in no way intended to make light of the very serious issue of self harm.


“I know that many people struggle with mental health issues every day, and I would like to take this moment to highlight one of the ways in people can seek help…”
