Conservative Party Leader, Kemi Badenoch believes efforts by Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK), Keir Starmer, to reduce migration numbers into the country “won’t stop the boats'”.
The UK PM has promised the people of Britain, “mark my words: I will take back control of our borders.”
He further promised, “I will tighten up every area of our immigration system so migration numbers will fall.”
Leader of the opposition, Badenoch, said, “People will still try their luck knowing they can stay in Britain if granted asylum so it won’t get rid of asylum hotels in the UK.”
Badenoch’s statement is coming as a response to a tweet by @JasonGroves1 which says: “Starmer in immigration U-turn as he unveils ‘Rwanda-lite’ scheme to send failed asylum seekers to the Balkans.”
Kemi Badenoch quoted @JasonGroves1 tweet and commented: “Starmer is making an effort, but this will NOT stop the boats.
“People will still try their luck knowing they can stay in Britain if granted asylum so it won’t get rid of asylum hotels in the UK. We left Labour a real deterrent. This is weaker than the Rwanda plan and won’t work.”
Badenoch also blasted Starmer at the PMQs over increasing rate of unemployment in the UK, saying, “under Labour, unemployment is up 10% and rising.”
