Inter manager, Simone Inzaghi, has described the victory over Bayern Munich in the Uefa Champions League quarter final as “wonderful”.
Inter scaled through Bayern Munich with a 4-3 aggregate win to reach the semi final of the tournament.
The Italian coach said, “It’s a wonderful night, one which we’ve shared with our fans in our stadium. We need to keep moving forward and enjoy these nights.”
Inter will face Barcelona in the semi final.
According to inter.it, in his post-victory comments, Inzaghi said: “It’s a wonderful night, one which we’ve shared with our fans in our stadium. We played two great matches; the boys were brilliant. This is a victory to be shared with the players, the Club and the fans. It’s been a long and difficult season, but one that’s bringing us a lot of joy. Doing this against a team like Bayern only adds to the satisfaction: they are an incredible team that maintain intensity throughout the 90 minutes, but we responded blow for blow, both in Munich and here at San Siro. This is a group that sacrifices and works hard. We’ve been together for almost four years, and we know we have a great team. This is a huge satisfaction and a reward for everything we’ve put in. Together with the staff, we try to put the players in the best possible condition. The group is very united, and we’ve all suffered together. We need to keep moving forward and enjoy these nights. San Siro truly moved us tonight.”
