Fire At Market In Kano: ‘Businesses and investments worth billions of Naira destroyed’

2023 Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has sent his “thoughts and prayers to all those who lost their properties and livelihoods in the devastating fire outbreak that engulfed a recycling hub and market in the Dakata metropolitan area of Kano State.”

The “unfortunate incident” which occurred early Wednesday morning led to the “destruction of businesses and investments worth billions of naira.”

Atiku wrote: “I am deeply saddened by the devastating fire outbreak that engulfed a recycling hub and market in the Dakata metropolitan area of Kano State early Wednesday morning. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who lost their properties and livelihoods in this unfortunate incident. The destruction of businesses and investments worth billions of naira is a tragic loss, not just for the affected individuals but for the entire community. I stand in solidarity with the victims during this difficult time and urge swift relief efforts to support them in rebuilding their lives.

“I call on the Governor of Kano State to immediately initiate a full-scale investigation into the cause of this fire to prevent such tragedies in the future. Furthermore, I urge the government to provide emergency relief and long-term support for those affected and implement measures to forestall future reoccurrences.”
