Ogun State: 200 children offered free paediatric surgery

The Chief Medical Director of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital Sagamu, Ogun State, Dr. Oluwabunmi Fatungase, has revealed, that no fewer than 200 poor children will be offered free medical surgery in the state.

Fatungase further revealed that the 5-day free paediatric surgery programme is being executed by the Ogun State government in association with Leicester Children’s Hospital.

The Chief Medical Director, while speaking at the kick off of the free medical programme, said, children suffering medical issues such as Hernia and Hydrocele, Undescended Testes, Hypospadias, Hirshsprung disease, Anorectal malformations and Lumps and Swelling, will be given free medical attention.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, declaring the programme open, assured of his administration’s willingness to ensure improvement in the quality and service delivery of medical personnel in the state.

He said: “This marks a new relationship between Ogun State and the Leicester Children’s Hospital, and we are going to further explore how to deepen that relationship and collaboration.


“We will continue to do everything to improve the quality and service delivery of our medical personnel, we will also continue to deal with everything that we can to improve the lot and life of our people.”
