Gavi, Barcelona midfielder, has won the Ballon d’Or Kopa Trophy for his beautiful 2021/22 season.

18-year old Gavi enjoyed a brilliant breakthrough campaign at the Camp Nou, featuring 47 times for the senior squad of the club in his first season.
He scored two goals and contributed six assists for Barcelona. After Xavi’s appointment, Gavi has notably come to the fore.
The Spanish midfielder ousted competition from nine final nominees to win the award. The other nominees were:
- Karim Adeyemi (Red Bull Salzburg/Borussia Dortmund)
- Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund)
- Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid)
- Ryan Gravenberch (Ajax/Bayern Munich)
- Nuno Mendes (PSG)
- Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich)
- Josko Gvardiol (RB Leipzig)
- Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)
- Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkuen)
The 2021 winner was Pedro, Gavi’s current teammate at Barcelona.
The Kopa Trophy award was first handed out in 2018 by France Football with French forward Kylian Mbappe winning the inaugural award.
