The FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 (Knockout Phase) kicks off on Sunday 28 June, 2026 with the game between South Africa and Canada.

The full Knockout bracket is now ready with the Group Phase concluded on Sunday. A whopping nine (9) African teams are in the round of 32, with Iran out of the tournament following Algeria’s late qualification.

Africa in the FIFA World Cup 2026

African teams are having a blast as the FIFA World Cup 2026 has become their best ever Men’s campaign.

A record ten (10) African nations made it to the expanded tournament and nine (9) scaled through to the Round of 32. This is the most from Africa in a single World Cup.

North African team, Tunisia, are the only team ousted from the tournament so far after suffering three (3) losses in three (3) Group F games.

The Eagles of Carthage lost 1-5, 0-4 and 1-3 to Sweden, Japan and Netherlands respectively.

Here are the African teams that reached the knockout phase: Algeria, Cape Verde, DR Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal and South Africa.
