Manchester City: North Stand to be renamed ‘The Pep Guardiola Stand’

The newly-constructed and expanded North Stand at Etihad Stadium will be renamed ‘The Pep Guardiola Stand’, Manchester City announced on Friday 22 May, 2026.

The Stand will be completely open for the first time for Guardiola’s last match in charge at the Club. It will be the game that concludes the 2025/26 season.

Manchester City will face Aston Villa in the Premier League match at Etihad Stadium on Sunday 24 May, 2026 at 16:00 (WAT).

His Highness Sheikh Mansour, a stakeholder in Manchester City, has approved this beautiful honour to recognize the outstanding contributions the Spanish manager has made during his ten (10) years as manager of the Cityzens.

A statue of Pep Guardiola will also be commissioned and mounted at the approach of The Pep Guardiola Stand. The move will be a part of the renaming.

According to the Club’s official website, His Highness Sheikh Mansour said: “I said a long time ago that Manchester City should have the very best people at its disposal, both on and off the field. For ten years Pep has been the personification of that ambition.

“He has the unending gratitude of myself and the entire City family, a family of which he will always be part.”

Manchester City Chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, said: “The Pep Guardiola Stand, and the statue that will sit outside it, rightly ensure that Pep’s legacy will remain forever woven into the fabric of this football club, the city of Manchester and English football.”

The Stand has been under development since late 2023. After expansion, the Stand has now added more than 7,000 new seats to Etihad Stadium, Manchester City home ground.

Etihad Stadium now has a capacity of more than 61,000.
