Manchester City 3-0 Crystal Palace: Cityzens cruise through Eagles to close gap to Arsenal

Manchester City easily defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 to move close to within two (2) points of Premier League toppers, Arsenal, and keep their title hopes breathing into the final week of the season.

The Cityzens were fully aware that failure to clinch maximum points against Crystal Palace on Wednesday 13 May, 2026 would mean that Arsenal will be named the new Kings of England if Arteta’s side emerged winner in the top flight contest against Burnley on Monday.

City head coach, Pep Guardiola, made six (6) changes to his side against the Eagles, resting in-form trio, Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki and the in-form Jeremy Doku, as he gears up for the FA Cup 2025/26 final against Chelsea on Saturday at Wembley Stadium.

The hosts went in front in the 32nd minute after English attacking midfielder, Phil Foden, provided for Antoine Semenyo, who converted. Foden was the provider again, this time for Omar Marmoush, who netted to make it two (2) for City in the 40th minute.

In the 84th minute, Rayan Cherki assisted Savinho for the third to complete a beautiful finish.

Foden has been left to warm the bench for much of the last two months and he recorded only his third start in City’s past thirteen (13) matches, however, the 25-year-old took his chance with two assists in the opening forty-five (45) minutes.
