Bayern Munich have broken the record for the most goals scored in a single Bundesliga season after a five-goal wallop of St. Pauli in the Bundesliga 2025/26 match on Saturday 11 April, 2026 at Millerntor-Stadion.
The result means Bayern Munich are currently twelve (12) points at the top of the Bundesliga table.
German midfielder, Jamal Musiala, netted the opener early, in the 9th minute, after converting Konrad Laimer’s assist with a diving header at the back post, and Leon Goretzka made it two for the visitors in the 53rd minute.
Michael Olise, Nicolas Jackson and Raphael Guerreiro with assists from Goretzka, Musiala and Jackson respectively, netted the third, fourth and fifth goals in the 54th, 65th and 88th minutes respectively, to hand Vincent Kompany’s side a well-deserved 5-0 win on the road.
Bayern Munich made it six (6) in the 5th minute of additional time after Goretzka found the back of the net for the second time, but, his goal was struck out by Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
The header from Musiala from Laimer’s cross was Bayern Munich’s 101st Bundesliga goal this season, levelling the record they set in 1971/72, for the most goal scored in a single League campaign; Goretzka netted the 102nd goal with a volley.
Bayern Munich have now scored a total of 105 goals in twenty-nine (29) Bundesliga games this season.
After Musiala’s opener, St. Pauli’s chance to level was blocked heroically by defender, Kim Min-Jae. It was one of the few goal chances the hosts had all through the match.
With five (5) games left to play, Kompany’s Bavarians are now comfortably leading at the summit of the standings with twelve (12) points after second-placed Borussia Dortmund suffered a lone goal defeat against Bayer Leverkusen.
On Saturday, Bayer Leverkusen stunned Dortmund with a 1-0 win at Signal Iduna Park.
After a campaign plagued with injury, Musiala emerged Player Of The Match on his third League start as he works towards earning a spot in Germany’s World Cup sqaud.
