The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced, it will commence a Nationwide Voter Revalidation Exercise this month.
The Commission said, the aim of the exercise will be to “clean the register and protect your vote”.
INEC announced: “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will commence a Nationwide Voter Revalidation Exercise to CLEAN the register and PROTECT your vote.”
The Exercise is scheduled to start on 3 April, 2026, as disclosed by the country’s electoral body. It said, anyone who got registered between 2011 – 2024, “this is for you”.
INEC clarified, the Exercise is “not a new registration”, it is for confirmation and for voter record to be “secure”.
Anyone who fails to do a revalidation will face the “risk of losing your voting eligibility”.
It warned, “don’t wait till election day to discover your name is missing”.
