2023 Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has encouraged Nigerians to “not lose heart” and allow Easter “give us hope of a better Nigeria ahead”.
As Nigerians commemorate the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the midst of “difficult times”, the former Governor of Anambra State urged the country to “remain steadfast in hope”.
He said on X, ““Good Friday must come before Easter Sunday,” and our present challenges must not define our future.”
Obi further said, “We understand the heavy burden many families are carrying as a result of economic hardship. As we share in your struggles, we urge you not to lose heart.”
He described the “difficult moments” Nigerians are facing as “temporary trials”, saying, they are our “collective cross” that can bring about “renewal if we remain resilient and committed to the common good”.
Despite “serious challenges” Nigeria battles with, particularly in governance, as well as, the “impact” it piles on Nigerians every day, Easter still “reminds us that after sacrifice comes renewal, and after darkness comes light”.
Obi said, a “better” Nigeria becomes a possiblity when Nigerians as one choose “accountability, compassion, and responsible leadership”.
He hopes that, “through God’s grace and the determination of our people, the journey ahead will lead to a brighter future”, he however admitted, “the road may be tough”, we believe in a country “that works for everyone”.
Obi prayed: “May this Easter renew our faith, strengthen our resolve, and inspire us to work together for a just and prosperous nation.”
