Substitute, Benjamin Sesko, netted a very late winner to help Manchester United get past a fightback from Fulham in the Premier League match at Old Trafford on Sunday 1 February, 2026.
The showdown which finished 3-2 in favour of the Reds means it is now three wins back-to-back for interim manager, Michael Carrick as United climb into the top four (4).
With Bruno Fernandes’ assist, Casemiro opened the scoring for Manchester United in the 19th minute, and, Matheus Cunha added the second with Casemiro’s assist in the 56th minute.
Jorge Cuenca scored for Fulham in the 65th minute, but, the goal was disallowed by Video Assistant Referee (VAR), however, the visitors were not disheartened as they kept on searching and then found the first goal in the 85th minute through Raul Jimenez.
Fulham thought they had pulled one back through Cuenca after he tapped in a deflected shot from Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze, after the ball rolled directly into his path, but, it was cancelled for offside.
Fulham did not relent and kept on pushing until the leveller came through substitute, Kevin, in the 1st minute of additional time after Ryan Sessegnom had provided.
Brazilian defensive midfielder, Casemiro, will part ways with Manchester United at the end of the season upon the expiration of his contract with the club, with a goal and an assist on Sunday night, he is sure enjoying his last moments with the 20-time Premier League Champions.
United, determined to bag maximum points, found the winner through Sesko after being set up by Fernandes in the 4th minute of additional time to erase Fulham’s thought of rescuing a point at the Theatre of Dreams.
Sesko coolly located the top corner after being allowed to take charge, position and shoot in the area, denying the Cottagers of what would have been a crucial and well-deserved point.
