Arsenal thumped Leeds United by four (4) unreplied goals in the Premier League match on Saturday 31 January, 2026 at Elland Road with Martin Zubimendi inspiring the win.
Losing England winger, Bukayo Saka, to a hip injury in the warm-up was not enough to prevent Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal as they surged to a beautiful 4-0 triumph to return to winning ways.
In the 27th minute, Zubimendi’s header from Noni Madueke’s assist placed the visitors in front, and Madueke’s corner was punched by Karl Darlow into his own net to gift the Gunners the second in the 38th minute.
And in the 69th minute Gabriel Martinelli provided for Swedish striker, Viktor Gyökeres, who added the third, and late, in the 86th minute, Gabriel Jesus converted midfielder, Martin Odegaard’s assist to seal victory for Arsenal and extend their lead at the zenith of the table.
Arsenal’s lead at the top of the table has now been momentarily extended to seven (7) points as they have accumulated forty-three (53) points.
The result means Leeds United have just conceded their second top flight defeat in eleven (11) games and have amassed twenty-six (26) points.
Noni Madueke stars for Arsenal
Heading to Leeds United home ground, Elland Road, is never an easy undertaking, especially not in the kind of form they are in currently. However, Arsenal breezd through the Peacocks with so much ease as the entire Gunners squad stood up and displayed an amazing performance.
Bukayo Saka’s never diminished their morale as the crosses never stopped coming up, and the midfield was in control. Arsenal launched an intensity too enormous for the home side to handle.
Both Gyökeres and Jesus netted for Arsenal off the bench, and Madueke put out a stunning performance to help Arsenal scale through.
Madueke came in to the starting lineup late for Saka and was pivotal in Arsenal’s opening goals. He grabbed his chance to impress and proved, just as they did in the season early.
