German side, Bayern Munich, climbed up to second in the Uefa Champions League 2025/26 table after coming from the back with three goals in the second-half against Portuguese side Sporting CP at Allianz Arena on Tuesday 9 December, 2025.
Attacking midfielder, Lennart Karl, netted for the third Champions League game in a row as Vincent Kompany’s Bavarians fought from a goal down to douse Sporting CP 3-1 on Tuesday night.
The talented youngster, who found the back of the net in the showdowns against Club Brugge and Arsenal, scored in the 69th minute to put Bayern Munich in front before defender, Jonathan Tah, crowned the victory with the third in the 77th minute.
Karl’s early goal for the hosts in the 5th minute was cancelled for an offside against Serge Gnabry in the build-up.
After a goalless first half, Sporting CP went ahead after Joshua Kimmich scored in his own net, but, the home side levelled in the 65th minute through Gnabry from Michael Olise’s assist, short-living the visitors’ joy.
Bayern Munich were left bruised after shockingly losing 3-1 to Premier League 2025/26 toppers, Arsenal, at Emirates Stadium in their last European clash, however, regained themselves on home soil, big thanks to teenage star, Karl.
The 17-year old Germany national under-21 football team emerged the youngest player in the history (since 1992-93) of the competition to net in three (3) consecutive appearances.
