Manchester City are now two (2) points trailing Premier League toppers, Arsenal, after a 3-0 triumph over Crystal Palace on Sunday 14 December, 2025 at Selhurst Park, thanks to a brace by Erling Haaland.
Arsenal’s very late victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers had placed the Gunners five (5) points atop, but, Haaland and Phil Foden ensured Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens clinched its fourth Premier League win back-to-back.
In the 41st minute, Matheus Nunes’ precise cross was well headed by Haaland to open the scoring for the visitors, and Foden extended the lead for City with the second in the 69th minute with an assist from Ryan Cherki.
The Norway international then sealed the win with the third in the 89th minute from the penalty spot after substitute Savinho had been fouled by Henderson.
Crystal Palace’s efforts from Yeremy Pino and Adam Wharton struck the woodwork; the Eagles defeated Pep Guardiola’s City in the FA Cup final in May.
While Arsenal struggled really hard to scale through Wolves with two (2) own goals, Manchester City cruised past their hosts as their title hopes soar following the stunning form of their forwards.
Oliver Glasner’s Eagles did not stop fighting to find their way back into the game with substitute Eddie Nketian forcing goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, to make a save from a tight spot.
