Fubara ‘happily’ obtains APC membership card

The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced with “happiness” that, he has “formally” obtained the membership card of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is coming after the Governor was recently reinstalled as the first citizen of the oil-rich State.

Fubara was placed under a six-month period of suspension from Office alongside his cabinet and members of the Rivers State National Assembly by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for “destroying the State legislature”, the APC said.

However, after peace talks between Fubara and immediate former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, mediated by the President, Fubara pledged “utmost loyalty” to President Tinubu.

Fubara explained, his decision to become a member of the ‘Broom’ Party is “to align our dear state with the ruling party at the centre”.

Governor Fubara made known via X: “To everything under the sun, there is a time and season and I am happy today that I formally obtained the membership card of the APC.

“This primarily, is to align our dear state with the ruling party at the centre, with a firm belief in Mr President and the Renewed Hope Agenda to rapidly contribute to the growth, stability and development of Rivers State.”

Fubara alongside Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, commissioned the over 12.2km Airport–Igwuruta Road which leads to the Port Harcourt Airport.

Fubara said: “It was under this atmosphere of freshness and vigour that my team and I received the Minister of Aviation, Chief Festus Keyamo SAN, for the official commissioning of the over 12.2km Airport–Igwuruta Road, which adds aesthetics and economic potentials to the Port Harcourt Airport.

“With the fruitful synergy already secured with the Federal Government, we also flagged off the construction of the 7.1km Ipo–Igwuruta bypass for smooth access into the host communities, as well as providing robust business opportunities for the populace.”
