I am ‘angry’ we lost to PSV – Liverpool midfielder Gravenberch

Ryan Gravenberch, Liverpool Dutch defensive midfielder, has expressed anger alongside his teammates after the Reds suffered an embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Eredivisie club, PSV Eindhoven, in the Uefa Champions League 2025/26 League Phase showdown on Wednesday 26 November, 2025 at Anfield.

The Netherlands national team player said, “we are just angry that we lost” at home.

Goals from Ivan Perisic, Guus Til and a brace from Couhaib Driouech completely shattered Arne Slot’s Reds; the home side managed to score a consolation through Hungarian midfielder, Dominik Szoboszlai.

According to Liverpool official website, in his assessment of the Liverpool’s fall to PSV, Gravenberch said:

His feeling to the outcome:

“We are just angry that we lost. I think we didn’t even play bad in the first half – we created a lot of chances. In the second half it went really wrong.”

His reaction to PSV’s opener:

“We went 1-0 down early and then you see the reaction from us in the first half, I think we did good after. We played some good football, we created a lot of chances. It’s so hard to find the words. We are just in a bad place right now.”

Issues within Liverpool:

“I think we concede too easy goals. That is our problem right now. I think a team like us, we have to do better, we have to defend better. We know we are a top team, we have really good qualities, but everything falls not in our way. It’s really difficult at the moment but we have to stick together and go from there.

Next, Liverpool will face West Ham United in the Premier League 2025/26 match on Sunday 30 November, 2025 at 15:05 (WAT) at London Stadium.

Liverpool’s defeat to PSV came after the Reds had been humiliated 3-0 by Nottingham Forest in the top flight encounter on Saturday 22 November, 2025.
