Eberechi Eze’s goal against his immediate former club, Crystal Palace, was all Arsenal needed to emerge winner in the Premier League 2025/26 match at Emirates Stadium on Sunday 26 October, 2025.
The result was Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal’s seventh-straight win in all competitions as the Gunners moved four (4) points clear at the top of the table.
Both sides headed into the clash on the back of contrasting European showdowns, with Arsenal humiliating Spanish side, Atletico Madrid, 4-0 in the Uefa Champions League 2025/26 League Phase and Crystal Palace falling to Cypriot minnows AEK Larnaca in the Uefa Europa Conference League 2025/26 League Phase.
Oliver Glasner’s Eagles kept the home side silent, limiting the Gunners to no sights of goal while launching counter-attacks themselves after winning possession in Arsenal’s half or taking advantage of the strength and pace of French striker, Jean-Philippe Mateta.
It took Arsenal 39 minutes to find the back of the net through English attacking midfielder, Eze; a set-piece routine came to Arsenal’s rescue as midfielder, Declan Rice, curled a beautiful delivery towards the back of the box, which was nodded back to the penalty spot by Gabriel.
And Eze raced onto the dropping ball and launched a volley towards goal, scoring his first Premier League goal for his new employers against his former team.
