Chelsea cruise past Nottingham Forest 3-0 at City Ground

English defender, Josh Acheampong, netted his first goal for Chelsea as the Blues recorded their third consecutive victory at the City Ground as the visitors returned to action after the international break in style.

Enzo Maresca’s Blues clinched an easy 3-0 win over the Tricky Trees in the Premier League 2025/26 match on Saturday 18 October, 2025.

Acheampong, Academy graduate’s lofty header from Pedro Neto’s pinpoint cross placed the visitors in front, not long after the half-time break, in the 49th minute, and Chelsea seized dominion of the showdown three minutes later.

This time it was Neto who found the back of the net to add the second for Chelsea, thumping in a free-kick from the edge of the box in the 52nd minute.

Both goals restored life to the showdown following a first 45 minutes that finished without a goal.

Defender Reece James then sealed the victory in the 84th minute; and Malo Gusto was shown a second yellow card and sent off in the 87th minute.

James’ goal was a beautiful way to mark his 200th appearance for Chelsea.

Chelsea wrote on X: “A goal on his 200th appearance.

“Reece James is pure Chelsea.”
