Senator Shehu Sani has called on the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to “take action against our own citizens with records of breaches of law or violations abroad”.
The Senator’s call is coming as “more countries are restricting Nigerian travellers because of the activities of few bad eggs”.
Sani said, the time has come for action against “a handful of citizens” who are “tarnishing” the “image and reputation” of Nigeria in “fraudulent practices” overseas.
Senator Shehu Sani said: “In view of the fact that more countries are restricting Nigerian travellers because of the activities of few bad eggs, time has come for Nigerian Immigration to take action against our own citizens with records of breaches of law or violations abroad.
“We must not sit down and do nothing while the image and reputation of our country is tarnished by a handful of citizens engaged in fraudulent practices abroad.”
