Aston Villa’s winner came really early, in the 13th minute, when Scotland midfielder, McGinn, struck from the edge of the box; his second goal against Bologna after scoring in the Uefa Champions League last season.
The Italian visitors almost found a late leveller but Bizot kept out Martin Vitik’s header.
