US Mission Nigeria commends Nigerian security forces on arrest of ‘wanted’ terr*r group leaders

The US Mission Nigeria has commended the Nigerian government and security forces following the recent achievement in the fight against terrorism in the country.

This is coming following the arrest of “wanted #Ansaru leaders, Mahmud Muhammad Usman (aka Abu Bara’a) and Mahmud al-Nigeri (aka Mallam Mamuda)”.

At the Press briefing, National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, expressed “gladness” following the successful conclusion of a “high-risk, intelligence-led, counter-terrorism operation” that resulted to the capture of the two terror group leaders.

Ribadu said, these two (2) terror group leaders have been on Nigeria’s most-wanted list for years.

In its commendation on X, US Mission Nigeria posted: “We commend the Nigerian Government and security forces on the successful arrest of wanted #Ansaru leaders, Mahmud Muhammad Usman (aka Abu Bara’a) and Mahmud al-Nigeri (aka Mallam Mamuda).

“This is a significant forward in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and extremism.”
