Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor of Lagos State, received President of South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters, Julius Malema, at the Lagos House, Marina, Lagos on Saturday 23 August, 2025.
Governor Sanwo-Olu posted on X: “Today, I received Mr. Julius Malema, President of South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters, on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina.”
After Malema signed the visitors’ book at the Governor’s House, the Economic Freedom Fighters tweeted: “President @Julius_S_Malema signing the visitors’ book at the Governor’s House. This gesture serves as a lasting record of the President and CIC’s visit, marking the moment in the official history of Lagos State. The act symbolises respect, friendship, and mutual recognition between the two leaders. It also reflects a commitment to strengthening ties and building solidarity across the continent.”
Julius Malema will address the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference on Sunday.
Governor Sanwo-Olu presented to Malema two (2) “priceless” gifts as a “mark of friendship and mutual respect”.
The Economic Freedom Fighters tweeted: “His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu honoured the President and CIC @Julius_S_Malema with two priceless gifts: a commemorative Eyo gift pack, symbolising the cultural heritage of Lagos, and a plaque bearing the official seal of the Lagos State Government, as a mark of friendship and mutual respect.”
