Chelsea Football Club have completed the signing of Argentine winger, Alejandro Garnacho, from Manchester United.
The 21-year old Argentina international, has put pen to paper on a long-term contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge for the next seven (7) years, until 2032.
Garnacho already recorded ninety-three (93) Premier League appearances to his name and has netted 16 goals, including a beautiful acrobatic kick against Everton that won the 2024 FIFA Puskas Award, having been a constant player in Manchester United’s side for the past two seasons.
The Argentine said, he is “happy” moving to London.
Garnacho said: “It’s an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club. I can’t wait to get started. I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special – we’re the best team in the world! It’s amazing to be here and I’m very happy.”
After his stunning performances for Manchester United’s youth teams, Garnacho was handed his senior debut as a replacement in a 1-1 draw against Chelsea in April 2022, not long before his 18th birthday.
In the 2024/25 season, Garnacho again played remarkably across all competitions, featuring in fifty-eight (58) encounters, finding the back of the net eleven (11) times, and recording ten (10) assists. In total, Garnacho recorded forty-eight (48) goal involvements in 144 appearances for the United.
The player was called up to the Argentina squad in 2023 and bagged his senior international debut same year in a friendly victory in Australia.
Garnacho was a part of the Argentina squad that won the Copa America in 2024, and has clinched eight (8) caps so far.
